After a dazzling shutout of the playoff bound Philadelphia Flyers on Tuesday night, Ryan Miller decided that he will not start on Thursday night. The opponent on Thursday night will be his former team, the Buffalo Sabres. Here is the tweet Sabres beat writer Mike Harrington:

Mike Harrington also added these tweets as well:

The big games Ryan Miller is talking about are the Colorado Avalanche on Saturday and at the Chicago Blackhawks on Sunday. The last time the Blues were in Chicago, they got trounced by the Blackhawks 4-0. The Colorado Avalache are only 7 points behind the Blues in the Central Division standings. With 7 games to go in the regular season, it is possible that the Blues could lose their lead in the Central division. Unlikely but possible.

So Ryan Miller will not face his former team this season and maybe never as a member of the St. Louis Blues. However, I understand his reasoning for skipping the start on Thursday. Time will tell if the rest paid off with victories over the weekend.
