College Basketball Saturday: Missouri Tigers And Illinois Fisghting Illini Win

Illinois goes 2-0 in the Big 10 with win against Penn State. 

The Illinois Fighting Illini were able to go 2-0 in the Big 10 with a win against the Penn State Nittany Lions 75-55 in the State Farm Center on Saturday. Early on, it looked like the Illini had a post Indiana hangover in the first half. Illinois let Penn State hang around in the first half and only had a 2 point lead at the half. In the second half, the Illini dominate the second half outscoring the Nittany Lions 47-29. The Illini will go to Madison, Wisconsin to play the Wisconsin Badgers next Wednesday.

Mizzou hold on to beat Long Beach State 

The Missouri Tigers hold on to beat Long Beach State 69-59 on Saturday. The Tigers could never put away the 49ers but were able to get the victory. Jabari Brown scored 22 points and Earnest Ross chipped in 16 points for the Tigers. The Tigers were once down by 8 points before taking the lead and getting to a 13 point lead before winning by 10. The Tigers will open up SEC play against Georgia on Wednesday night.
