2013 is coming to an end so it’s time to award the 1st ever Arch Awards. There will be 5 award categories and the winners will be chosen by you, the fans. The first category for the 2013 Arch Awards will be the Rising Star award. This award will go to the player who St Louis sports fans will be a superstar in their respective sport for 2014 and beyond. Here is your nominees:
Michael Wacha, St. Louis Cardinals
Michael Wacha was drafted by the Cardinals in the 2012 MLB Draft and he took little time to make a big impact on the Cardinals. He pitched in 15 games in the regular season, starting 9 of them. He went 4-1 with a 2.78 ERA. In the NLDS and NLCS, he gave up only 1 earned run in 21 innings pitched en route to a NLCS MVP. He struggled in the World Series but there is no doubt in many Cardinals fans that he is the future ace of the St. Louis Cardinals.
