It’s gameday so it’s time to make our predictions on the 2013 World Series.

Games 1 and 2

I think the Cardinals will take a game in Boston. I believe it will be Game 2. I think the emotion of Fenway Park will take over Game 1 but the letdown will happen in Game 2. I do know the statistics, very rarely does a team win a World Series by not winning Game 1. The last team to win the World Series without winning Game 1 was the 2009 World Series when the New York Yankees lost Game 1 yet won the World Series. Not all hope is lost.

Series Tied 1-1

Games 3-5

The Cardinals will take Game 3 in the big offensive showing from the Cardinals bats. Game 4 will be a close pitchers duel with Shelby Miller gets his first postseason start and win. Then Boston will fend off elimination in Game 5 with a strong performance by Jon Lester. David Ortiz will hit at least 1 home run in St. Louis.

Cardinals lead 3-2 heading to Boston

Game 6 and 7

Michael Wacha will be sensational in his Game 6 start, John Axford will pitch the 8th inning and Trevor Rosenthal will close it out for the Redbirds’s 12th World Series title. No need for a Game 7.

Cardinals win the series 4-2.
