The St. Louis Cardinals split the 4 game series with the Colorado Rockies. Here is a series recap.

One Step Closer.

The Cardinals are going to clinch a playoff spot over the weekend. Unfortunately it didn’t happen today. The Cardinals leave Denver with a 1 game lead over the Pittsburgh Pirates in the NL Central. Although winning 3 out of 4 would of been ideal, they didn’t hurt themselves going forward.

Best Pitching Performance: Adam Wainwright

Although he gave up two runs in the first inning, he settled down and only gave up one run for the rest of his 7.2 inning outing. He did give up 10 hits but struck out 8.

(BTW, if you haven’t seen the tag out by Todd Helton on Matt Carpenter on the fake throwback, here it is.)

Series Epilogue

The Cardinals now go against the Milwaukee Brewers in Milwaukee for the final road trip of the regular season. The Cardinals can take steps to clinch the NL Central as the Pirates and Reds will beat each other up this weekend.
