The St. Louis Cardinals took 3 out of 4 games against the Atlanta Braves over the weekend in St. Louis, MO. Here is our series recap.

Swagger restored

The Cardinals knew the statistic. The Cardinals had only beaten the Atlanta Braves once since the start of the 2012 season. That one win was in the wild card playoff game last October. Well consider that history as the Cardinals dominated the Braves in this series. In the first 3 games, the Cardinals only allow 5 runs total. The Cardinals got the Braves monkey off their back and showed that they are a team to be messed with in October.

Best pitching performance: Adam Wainwright

Shelby Miller gets honorable mention but Adam Wainwright threw a complete game to win his 15th game of the season. He might not get to 20 wins but if he keeps pitching like he is, he will be a force in October.

Series epilogue

As mention previously, the swagger of winning 3 out of 4 against the Atlanta Braves sent a message to the rest of the National League. The Cardinals are not a pushover. The Cardinals have gone 7-3 in their last 10 games. If they keep this up through September and stay hot in October, good things will happen.
