The St. Louis Cardinals took two out of three against the Chicago Cubs at Wrigley Field over the weekend. Here is our series recap.

It was the best of times, it was the worst of times.

The Cardinals were blown out on Friday but dominated the Cubs on Saturday and Sunday. Much of that has to deal with Jake Westbrook being so bad. Either way, the Cardinals were able to get a series victory after getting blown out on Friday.

Best pitching performance: Adam Wainwright

Wainwright threw 7 innings and gave up only 1 run. He also struck out 11 batters. Joe Kelly had a stellar outing on Saturday but didn’t strikeout 11 batters.

Series Epilogue

The St. Louis Cardinals took care of business. That’s all you can do against a bad team. The Cardinals will now go 90 miles north to Milwaukee to face off against the Brewers. The Brewers are just as bad as the Cubs so the Cardinals must win the series against the Brewers. Jake Westbrook is going on Wednesday so the Cardinals will have to win on Monday and Tuesday because you know Jake Westbrook is going to give up 5 runs or more.
