Being the manager of a tradition rich baseball club can be a great job, it can also be a very demanding and thankless job. When things go south, it can create tension among the fanbase. Here are a few tweets over the weekend about Mike Matheny:

The frustration in Cardinals Nation is palpable. Fans want to win, but does that mean Mike Matheny should be out of a job? I don’t think so. He does make some questionable management decisions during a game. I will give the Cardinals fans that. However, you don’t get one win away from the World Series by talent alone. He doesn’t have a lot of management experience but I see the potential to be something special. Tony Larussa had 33 seasons as a manager, this is Matheny’s second. In my opinion, I believe Cardinals fans who are frustrated with Mike Matheny to give him a break once in a while.
