The St. Louis Rams have begun training camp. The first preseason game will be next Thursday at the Cleveland Browns. Here are some of the updates from over the weekend at Rams Training Camp.
– A big shout out has to go to the St. Louis Rams fans. The Rams Fans had a record attendance on Saturday at Rams training camp. 2,297 fans attended the Saturday session of training camp.
– As I mention earlier in my defensive back preview, I expected the safety position to be a battle. It looks like Rodney McLeod is trying to assert himself to that starter’s role grabbing 2 interceptions on Saturday.
– No shock to anyone but Tavon Austin was seen returning punts on Sunday. I expect that he will get some of the punt returns. You don’t want to have your star receiver taking all the punt returns and get lit up by a special teams player.
– The only reports of a breakout player is possibly Lindenwood wide receiver Andrew Hemlick. According to reports, he just seems to make big time catches and is being productive. I am not sure he will make the 53 man roster but I think he can earn a practice squad spot.
