The St. Louis Rams will begin training camp on July 25th, Arch Authority will breakdown key position groups and battles that will define the 2013 St. Louis Rams. Today we will breakdown the Rams running back position.

Starter: Daryl Richardson (projected)

Reserves: Isaiah Pead, Terrance Ganaway (rookie), Chase Reynolds and Zac Stacy (rookie)

Outlook:

With the departure of Stephen Jackson, it looks like the projected starter will be Daryl Richardson. I would expect Zac Stacy to contribute to the offense but outside of that, the running back position is one of the biggest unknowns with the St. Louis Rams. A running game is crucial to offensive success in the NFL. I expect the Rams to utilize Tavon Austin in a similar fashion that the West Virginia Mountaineers did. He should end up getting around 300-500 yards rushing with the Rams this year. Whoever does takeover for the Rams, they will have large shoes to fill replacing Steven Jackson.
