Albert Pujols.

The mere mention of his name makes Cardinals fans blood boil. Maybe not as much as it did in 2011 when he left the St. Louis Cardinals to take a 10 year, $254 million dollar deal with the Los Angeles Angels. Cardinals fans are torn about Albert Pujols. some believe he should be honored for what he did in a Cardinals uniform. Others believe we shouldn’t acknowledge someone who left to go to another team after winning the World Series. Albert Pujols sat down with Fox’s John Paul Morosi to talk about the Cardinals and the city of St. Louis. Here are some interesting quotes from the article.

"“St. Louis is still a special place for me,” Pujols told FOXSports.com Wednesday, before the Angels’ 7-4 win over the Detroit Tigers. “I still have my home there. I live there in the offseason. I enjoyed playing in front of 40,000 people every day. I tried to do my best to help the organization win. I had success there. We won two World Series. We went to three. That’s something you can’t take from me. I had great teammates and great memories. Those are things you’re always going to take with you. “The reality is that city made me who I am today.”"

That’s fair to say. He always seemed happy to be in St. Louis and he ended up taking what he considered to be a better deal. It seems at this point the interview would be cordial to the Cardinals, but no. He ends up throwing the Cardinals front office under the bus.
