The Mizzou basketball program has announced the 2013-2014 men’s basketball non-conference basketball schedule. Here is the full release from MUtigers.com. Here is the list of the opponents the Tigers will be playing this fall:

My Take:

The SEC as a basketball league is pretty pathetic. If Kentucky can get it together, maybe the SEC might be a competitive league but Florida and Missouri were the only true locks for the NCAA tournament last year and Ole Miss needed to win the SEC tournament just to get in. The non-conference schedule is very important. I think Mizzou did a decent job trying to find quality OOC opponents. Illinois is a solid team, UCLA as well. The Tigers do challenge themselves by going on the road to play at NC State. West Virginia would of been a great opponent 5 years ago but not so much now. Mizzou did all it could to get a very competitive non-conference schedule. It gets a B- grade for level of difficulty.
