St. Louis Cardinals Top FanSided MLB Power Rankings

In a rather unsurprising revelation, the St. Louis Cardinals have topped the FanSided MLB Power Rankings for another week. It would be extremely difficult for any intent baseball observer to argue with this decision, as the Cardinals have been absolutely fantastic through six weeks of play.

Though there were plenty of predictions that the Cardinals would win the NL Central this season, it would have been tough to imagine them being quite as dominant as they’ve been thus far, especially considering that they’ve lost ace Adam Wainwright for the season and will have to operate without setup man Jordan Walden for an extended period. Even after losing two of three to the Pittsburgh Pirates this weekend, they currently have a major-league best 23-9 record, which amounts to a ridiculous .719 winning percentage.

We’ll see how long the team can sustain its incredible pace; they’ll face the second, third, fourth, and seventh teams in this week’s rankings over the remainder of May, as they’ll host the Tigers (7th) this weekend, before visiting the Mets (4th) for four games, the Royals (2nd) for three, and the Dodgers (3rd) for three at the end of this month.
