With all of the player movement in Major League Baseball, being a General Manager is not an easy job. Your job is to assemble the best possible team available with the budget your owner(s) gives you. It led me to wonder: how hard is it to assemble a top-tier roster on an average payroll ($92,852,148 according to CBSSports)?

Criteria: Obviously I could assemble an all-rookie lineup, but that isn’t realistic. So this roster contains no rookies or current minor league players. I also have to have veteran leaders across the board. Otherwise, the roster would resemble that of the Houston Astros or last season’s Chicago Cubs: talented but leaderless. So without further ado, here is the best 25-man roster that I could assemble.
