Staff Predictions for St. Louis Rams vs. Philadelphia Eagles

The Arch Authority staff returns again to take a guess at who will win Sunday’s intriguing matchup between the Philadelphia Eagles and St. Louis Rams. If trends remain the same, it should be a very fun game to watch for those who are fans of high-powered passing attacks, as the Eagles, who are ranked sixth in the league in passing yards per game, and the Rams, who are ninth in that category, will be facing off against an Eagles defense ranked 23rd in passing yards allowed and a Rams pass defense that hasn’t allowed too much yardage but has just one sack on the season.

Without further ado, here are our weekly staff predictions:

Patrick Karraker, Editor: “I don’t think it’s at all out of the question that the Rams can go into Philadelphia and win this game, but I just don’t have enough faith that they can shut down the Eagles’ offensive attack until I see otherwise. I’m very intrigued to see if this is the week where Austin Davis finally returns to earth. On the other hand, it should be exciting to see how the Davis-Tavon Austin connection develops in their first full week together.” Eagles 38, Rams 28

Scott Criscione, Staff Writer: Fun fact: The Eagles offense did not score a touchdown last week, while their defense scored all three (which greatly helped my fantasy team). Hopefully the Rams can avoid such fiascoes and continue the Eagles’ scoreless streak… okay, realistically I expect another good game from Austin Davis: not great, but good. I also expect the Eagles to take over in the second half. They just have too many weapons and Davis has yet to face a 3-4 defense in his role as starter.” Eagles 33, Rams 20

Paul Lamb, Staff Writer: “At 3-1, the Eagles have been one of the best teams in the league this year. Don’t expect anything different at home against the Rams on Sunday. Coming off of a bye week, though, the Rams should come out fresh and ready for the Eagles’ explosive offense. Special teams are going to be key this week, especially stopping the speedy Darren Sproles on punt and kick returns. To quote Lee Corso, this one will be ‘closer than the experts think'”. Eagles 31, Rams 24
