Molina, Carpenter Win Sliver Slugger Award

Yadier Molina and Matt Carpenter have both won the NL Sliver Slugger award for their positions. This is the first Sliver Slugger award for both Molina and Carpenter.  The Cardinals weren’t the only team in the National League with 2 Sliver Sluggers. The Pittsburgh Pirates had Andrew McCutchen and Pedro Alvarez winning Sliver Slugger awards as well. The Baltimore Orioles had the most with 3 players on the Sliver Sluggers. In the American League, the winners were Baltimore first baseman Chris Davis; New York Yankees second baseman Robinson Cano; Baltimore shortstop J.J. Hardy; Detroit third baseman Miguel Cabrera; outfielders Torii Hunter of Detroit, Mike Trout of the Los Angeles Angels and Adam Jones of Baltimore; designated hitter David Ortiz of Boston and Minnesota catcher Joe Mauer.
