The St. Louis Rams training camp has begun, Arch Authority will breakdown key position groups and battles that will define the 2013 St. Louis Rams. Today we will breakdown the Rams Linebacker position group.

Starters: Sammy Brown, James Laurinaitis, and Jo-Lonn Dunbar

Reserves*: Josh Hull, Alec Ogletree (rookie), Will Witherspoon, Jabara Williams, Ray-Ray Armstrong (rookie), Jonathan Stewart (rookie).

*not all reserves are listed.

Outlook:

Most Rams fans are excited to see Alec Ogletree. I expect him to make an impact on this team and be a starter on this team. The 2-deep on this team is exciting to watch. Will Witherspoon is back after being traded to the Eagles in 2009. Last season, he had 47 combined tackles, 1 forced fumble and 1 interception. I don’t expect him to contribute 100 tackle seasons like he did in his first stint with the Rams but provide a solid, veteran presence that this young defense needs. Keep an eye out for Jonathan Stewart. He wasn’t the biggest name on the Texas A&M Aggies last year but he was second on the team with 81 total tackles and 2.5 sacks.
