Saint Louis University’s Dwayne Evans (21) completed his second consecutive double-double against the conference rival Richmond Spiders on Saturday at the Robin’s Center, knocking down 11 points and grabbing 11 rebounds in the 56-46 road win.  The Bills held the Spiders to just 23.3% from the field (10 of 43), which bested the previous mark of 31.8%.  The other contributing factors to the winning streak were senior guard Kwamain Mitchell (3), junior guard Jordair Jett (5) and senior forward Cody Ellis (24), who all had 9 points, and the team’s ability to overcome a team high 20 turnovers.

The Atlantic 10 conference, which is locked in a three way tie in conference play between SLU, VCU and 14th ranked Butler, appears to be housing at least those three tournament strength teams.  St. Louis comes home to host the Charlotte 49ers on Saturday, February 16th, but then have real tests in a home game against VCU on Tuesday, February 19th, and then a road challenge at the Butler Bulldogs on Friday, February 22nd.
