Jordan Sheffield, RHP, Vanderbilt

In terms of style and makeup, Sheffield’s very similar to Cardinals starter Carlos Martinez. At just 6-foot flat and 185 pounds with a fastball that touches 98 MPH, he thrives on explosiveness.  Considering the fact that he’s 21 years old and only has three pitches, he might be more of a bullpen guy long-term, but if he can effectively mix his speeds as well as a guy like Martinez does, then perhaps he’d be a good fit in the rotation.
