The St. Louis Blues will once again attempt to wrap up their first-round series with the Chicago Blackhawks and win their first series since 2012.

On Saturday night, the St. Louis Blues will head back to United Center, where they’ve won five of their past six games (including Games 3 and 4 of this playoff series), and they’ll try to wrap up what’s been a tremendous first-round series against the Chicago Blackhawks. The Blues failed to wrap things up in a potential elimination game on Thursday night, as Patrick Kane scored a goal three minutes into the second overtime to negate all the progress the Blues had made by coming back from a 3-1 deficit heading into the third period.

While the Blues have enough of a lead in this series that they’ll be guaranteed a Game 7 if necessary–thus ending the three-year streak of six-game eliminations in the first round–they still have work left to do to finish off their first series victory since 2012. The Blackhawks are historically resilient with their backs up against the wall, so the Blues certainly must avoid the reserved style of play that we’ve seen them exhibit in prior postseason series if they want to compete on Saturday.
