The St. Louis Blues began their second round of mass cuts on Friday, reassigning 11 players from their training camp roster to the AHL Chicago Wolves following Friday’s practice at Scottrade Center. With these cuts, the Blues’ training camp roster now stands at 41 players, meaning that 18 more players need to go prior to the regular season opener.

Forwards Rob Bordson, Terry Broadhurst, Jacob Doty, Zach Pochiro, Ryan Tesink, and Yannick Veilleux, defensemen Mathieu Brodeur, Joel Edmundson, and Jani Hakanpaa, and goaltender Niklas Lundstrom were among the players reassigned. Forward Benn Ferriero was also officially assigned to Chicago, although he did not attend camp with the Blues.

We projected all of these players to be among the cuts earlier Friday, but there are still 11 more players to go if the Blues want to reach a 30-man roster by the end of this weekend. Players who are required to pass through waivers before returning to the AHL, including Jeremy Welsh, Sebastian Wannstrom, David Shields, Brent Regner, Phillip McRae, John McCarthy, and Pat Cannone, were exposed to the wire on Friday morning, and they should return to Chicago shortly if they successfully pass through.
