Former Tiger Dorial Green-Beckham Denied Eligibility

Dorial Green-Beckham surprised everyone a few months ago when he enrolled at the University of Oklahoma. Sure, he was recruited by Bob Stoops and has obvious talent, but enrolling shortly after being dismissed from the University of Missouri made it seem as though he and the Sooners were quite confident in his eligibility for the 2014 season.

Today put an end to that belief. DGB, as he has been known since high school, was denied eligibility by the NCAA on Friday and will be forced to sit out the upcoming season.

DGB lead the Mizzou Tigers with twelve receiving TD’s in 2013, but was continuously in hot water off the field. His arrests culminated in April when he allegedly pushed a female down the steps while attempting to see his girlfriend. No charges were pressed, but the incident was the last straw for DGB who had been suspended multiple times by the university and Coach Gary Pinkel for drug related arrests and violations.

It is unsure as of now if DGB will remain at Oklahoma and attempt to play at the university next season or if he will forego his junior year to enter next season’s NFL Draft. DGB was ranked as the number one high school player in many rankings before enrolling at Mizzou and many still believe he will warrant a first round pick when he chooses to come out.
