Arch Madness is here and once again some great basketball is going to be played in the Scottrade Center in St. Louis, MO. Here is Arch Authority’s preview of the Arch Madness tournament to decide who gets the automatic bid for the Missouri Valley conference.

Favorites: Wichita State Shockers

If you go undefeated, then you are the favorite to win the conference tournament. Now it’s tougher to win conference tournaments because you play for 3 straight days. That’s hard to do. However, Wichita State has proven that they are the best team in the Missouri Valley. Can they prove it for 3 straight days? That’s tough to determine.

Sleeper: Indiana State Sycamores

I know what you are thinking, how can a 2 seed in Arch Madness be a sleeper? Because they are a good team that everyone in college basketball is ignoring. However, they have lost 3 straight so their tourney hopes were effectively dashed in the last 2 weeks. Winning 21 games is not an easy thing to do so can the Sycamores win the MVC tournament? Absolutely.

Who wins Arch Madness?

At the end of the day, it would be a complete shock (pun intended) if the Shockers didn’t win Arch Madness. Almost every game will be predominately black and yellow so I don’t know if St. Louis can be called a neutral site. Wichita State is on a mission. They want to win out. Go 40-0. That is their mission and I don’t see them giving up now.
