2. Sign a free agent catcher.

As stated on the previous page, Yadier Molina isn’t getting any younger and the wear and tear of being a catcher will eventually catch up with him. Tony Cruz has been solid as the backup catcher but with a deep NL Central, the Cardinals can’t afford to go weeks without a quality bat in the lineup or a quality catcher on the bench to fill in when Yadi needs a break.

So who could be that guy? John Buck is available and he can be a reliable player behind the plate. If you sign him to a 2 year; $4.5 Million dollar deal, that would not be a bad deal.
