2013 is coming to an end so it’s time to award the 1st ever Arch Awards. There will be 5 award categories and the winners will be chosen by you, the fans. Today we will introduce our nominees for the 2nd category: Best Sports Moment. St. Louis Cardinals win 19th National League Pennant.

The St. Louis Cardinals were unable to win their 12th World Series this season but the Cardinals were able to claim that they were the best team in the National League. For the 19th time in their rich history, the Cardinals won the National League pennant. It was their 4th NL pennant in 10 seasons. The Cardinals have become the model franchise in Major League Baseball and the pennant was the validation of that claim.
