The St Louis Blues beat the Winnipeg Jets 2-1 to potentially end the Blues losing way. The St Louis Blues have improved 20-6-3.

The scoring began early in the second period when the hometown hero of Winnepeg Alex Steen scored on a wrist shot 4:44 into the second period. TJ Oshie and David Backes were the two assists on the play.

In the third period, the Winnipeg Jets were able to get on the board on a powerplay goal by Bryan Little. The Winnipeg Jets were terrible this year on the powerplay ranked dead last in the league and were carrying an 0-for-18 streak on the man advantage before that goal.

When the game seemed destined for overtime until the red hot Kevin Shattenkirk saves the day for the St. Louis Blues:

That goal was just enough for the Blues to get a victory in Canada. Brian Elliot got the start over the embattled Jaroslav Halak. He faced 21 shots and saved 20. The St Louis Blues will face the Toronto Maple Leafs on Thursday.
