For St. Louisians, this is a huge week for sports under the Arch. Here is what to expect this week in STL sports.

More clarity on the David Freese situation.

It was rumored that the Cardinals might be looking to move David Freese in the offseason, this week I believe that we will have more clarity on the David Freese situation. Multiple teams are now interested in the Cardinals third baseman, the latest being the Miami Marlins. The Marlins would be a more ideal trade partner for the Cardinals than the Yankees with their plethora of prospect that they have on South Beach.

A fantastic International soccer match.

Even though Messi won’t be in St. Louis, this should still be a fantastic soccer match on Monday night at Busch Stadium against Bosnia. There are a number of Bosnian immigrants that live in St. Louis so the crowd should be all in for Bosnia to pull off the upset.

Can Alex Steen keep up his rapid scoring pace?

Alex Steen has 17 goals in 18 games but he didn’t score against the Washington Capitals on Sunday night. The Blues have 3 games this week against the Buffalo Sabres, Boston Bruins, and Dallas Stars. Buffalo and Dallas are not good teams so I expect Steen to get 3 goals in 3 games this week. Even with the fantastic performance by the Blues this season, they are 6th in the Western Conference. There is little room for error for the Blues this year so they need Steen to be the catalyst for this team.
