The St. Louis Rams lost to the San Francisco 49ers 35-11 on Thursday night. Here is our recap.

– Either find a running back in free agency or somewhere who can cut it to the outside or do anything running the football. Marshall Faulk right now could rush for more than 18 yards in a game. That was the most pathetic attempt at running the ball. Blocking was terrible, the running backs wouldn’t cut to find other holes. Just a terrible night running the football.

– Oh and the 49ers got 219 yards rushing and only 11 from Colin Kaepernick. That happened.

– Sam Bradford isn’t the future at quarterback for this team. He is simply a game manager. That’s not a terrible thing at the NFL level but you need an outstanding running game and offensive line to be successful game managing QB. The Kansas City Chiefs can afford to have Alex Smith as a game manager because they have an outstanding offensive line and Jamaal Charles. The Rams have neither. Right now, he is the quarterback but in the offseason the Rams need to look in the college ranks for a better QB.

– The Rams defense played a great 1st quarter and then collapsed. It seemed like they were so worried about Kaepernick beating them with their legs that they totally ignored Frank Gore. Bad call.

– Luckily for the Rams, they play a team worse than them on October 6th. The Jacksonville Jaguars. They had a rough first 4 games however the season isn’t over. Find something that can work with the limited running game and run it against Jacksonville. Can’t afford to lose more games.
