St. Louis Rams running back Terrance Ganaway has decided to step away from football to pursue a graduate degree.

A dominating running back at Baylor, Ganaway couldn’t see the same success at the NFL level. In his rookie season, he was able to make the 53 man roster for the St. Louis Rams in 2012 but did not get any stats. He was injured to start the 2013 preseason and never got a chance to touch the ball. Here is what Jeff Fisher had to say:

"“It’s not often a guy can walk away from the game on his own terms,’’ the coach said. “I also told him that I felt like he had ability to play in this league. He can walk away having participated, (having) a great college career with an outstanding football team and take those memories with him and go on with his life.’’"

Although I believe that he would have been cut after the next preseason game, it’s tough to see a player so young step away from the game. Good luck to Terrance on his journey.
