On Tuesday, the St. Louis Rams announced that they will wear the 1999 throwback jerseys for 2 games this season. The games will be against the Tennessee Titans and Tampa Bay Buccaneers. ST. LOUIS – The St. Louis Rams will wear their royal blue and yellow gold throw back jerseys twice this season to commemorate two of the most memorable games in team history, the team announced today.
The Rams will don the 1999-era throwbacks when the host the Tennessee Titans on Nov. 3, and St. Louis will wear the vintage uniforms again on Dec. 22 against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
Following the 1999 season, the Rams defeated the Buccaneers in the NFC Championship Game to advance to the franchise’s second Super Bowl appearance. A week later, St. Louis defeated the Titans in one of the most thrilling finishes in Super Bowl history. The win gave the Rams their first World Championship.
