The St. Louis Blues and Patrik Berglund have reached a one year deal worth $3.25 million dollars, 101sports.com is reporting. Here is the full story on 101sports.com:

"As confirmed by Jeremy Rutherford of 101 ESPN and the St. Louis Post-Dispatch, center Patrik Berglund will be back in Blue for at least one more season.Berglund, 25, and the Note have reached agreement on a one-year contract extension worth $3.25 million. The abbreviated 2012-13 campaign saw the former first-round selection register 25 points in 38 games (Edit: 48 games). In his career, Berglund owns 92 goals and 96 assists over 358 contests"

My Take:

He is a goal scorer for the Blues and they need him if the St. Louis Blues want to compete for the Stanley Cup. He is especially valuable on the powerplay where he scored 5 of his 17 goals last season. I would like to see him become a 30 goal, 80 points type of player because that would be huge for the Blues. With Andy MacDonald’s retirement, it’s important for Berglund to step up.
