The Illinois Fighting Illini have finally gotten a shot in the arm and hope for the future. The highly touted transfer Wes Lunt has decided to attend the University Of Illinois.

Here is the tweet:

ESPN’s Joe Schad was able to get more details on the commitment:

"Former Oklahoma State quarterback Wes Lunt has decided to transfer to Illinois after considering his options for more than a month, saying he’d “always dreamed of playing for Illinois, my state school.”“I know it’s a team game and I can’t do it all by myself,” Lunt said. “I do hope we can add some more good recruits.”Lunt called Illinois coach Tim Beckman on Monday to inform him of his decision.“I am OK with how I left Oklahoma State,” Lunt said. “God had a plan for me. No hard feelings with Coach (Mike Gundy).”"

Here are some highlights from his time at Oklahoma State:

Wes Lunt is right. He needs more help to get Illinois winning again. Quite frankly, things went from average to dredful in Tim Beckman’s first year at Illinois. Getting a quarterback built for the spread is important but the Illini need more speed at Wide Receiver and at running back if they want to get to a bowl game in the future.
